What you learn

Put in 2 hours of study every week and at the end of the 6 weeks you will find yourself speaking Italian! Here is some of the things you will have learned by the end of the course. 

Basic social interactions in Italian: such as greetings and goodbyes, how to accept and politely refuse an offer, how to apologize, introductions.

You will be able to talk about yourself  (your age, where you are from, what you like and what yo don't like your everyday life, your plans), talk about the weather, ask and say where things are, say how you are feeling. You will also know how to describe people and places, order your breakfast, book a table in a restaurant.

And you will have learned the vocabulary and grammar rules that go with all that: (the verb to be and to have, the presente indicativo of regular verbs + two of the most important irregular verbs, and then articles, regular nouns, adjectives). 

You will also have practiced some important pronunciation rules in Italian. 

What you get

Here is the structure of the course

  • 40 UNITS, 150 LESSONS The course is made of 40 Learnign Units, for a total of over 150 lessons. Each week you willbe able to access the new learning content for the week

  • GET FEEBACK At the end of the week, you can (if you want) send in your assignment and I'll write back to give you my feedback. The assignement gives you an opportunity to practice what you have learned during the week: record yourself speaking, write, practice your listening.

  • SPEAKING AND LISTENING I focus on getting you to speak and have a conversation. So you get pleanty of speaking and listening exercises throughout the course.

  • PRONUNCIATION "An accent is a sign of courage". Let's not worry too much about pronuncing it exactly right at this stage. BUT, let's learn the basics of pronunciation. We'll have a unit on pronunctiaion each week.

  • DIFFERENT TYPES OF EXERCISES We all have different ways to learn. This is why I provide you with different types of exercises: you will have flashcards, multiple choice quizzes, drag and drop exercises, listen and write, listen and draw, listen and answer, fill the gaps exercises.

  • GRAMMAR FOCUS Short and to the point. Our "focus on grammar" lessons are short, relevant and to the point. If you get bored, you won't learn. It's just that easy

About me

Ciao, sono Laura. I am a teacher of Italian and live in Rome with my husband and my son (both have kindly agreed to lend their voice for some of the dialogues in the course).

I have over 10 years' experience teaching languages and have worked in some of the most prestigious schools of Italian in Rome. I was never completely happy with the textbooks and over the years I've created my very own teaching material to complement the textbooks.

This course comes from my experience as a teacher: I know how to help students really learn Italian ( as opposed to just memorizing bits of grammar and vocabulary) and I know how to keep them motivated.

I am a language student myself: five years of Latin and Ancient Greek do help a lot when you want to learn and teach languages. I studied English and went on to do my Master's Degree in London. I learned Spanish, had a go at Arabic and now onto French.

I belive that learning a language should go hand in hand with learning a culture: recipes, songs, proverbs, jokes, traditions. Which is why you will find a bit of all of that in my course.

  • Is this the right course for me?

    "Parlo Italiano!" is the right course for you if: you speak English, you have very little or no Italian at all. If you are not sure this is the right level for you, enrol for free and have a look or contact me on [email protected]. I'll be happy to help you

  • How long do I have access to the course for?

    The course is designed to get you results in 6 weeks, but you will have access to the course for a whole year from the day of purchase.

  • How much do I need to study per week?

    Ideally, you will study a minimum of 2 hours per week. Plus, there is 5 assignments on which you get feedback from me.Why not make this a special "do not disturb" time for you? So you can concentrate on doing something you enjoy.

  • What if I can't keep the pace?

    No problem! The course is structured so that you get your result – speak Italian – by the end of week 6. BUT, if you can't keep the pace, no problem! You can just do it at your own pace. Your content will be there for you for a whole year and you can access it whenever you want. No rush!

  • Can I get a refund?

    Sure! You can get a full refund within 7 days of purchase. But most importantly you can enroll in the course and access the first week (that is 9 units for a total of over 30 lessons) completely free. This way, you can make sure the course is right for you before you buy it.
